Importance of Knowing the Student Code of Conduct

My name is Boykin Hunter and I am Assistant Principal at Arrington Middle School in Birmingham, Alabama. I have been an Assistant Principal for eleven years. I am also Interim Pastor at Saint Joseph Baptist Church.
I am writing this blog to discuss the student code of conduct and to encourage parents and students to be knowledgeable about what is in the code. Many students fail to read the code and therefore many violations are committed. Everything is written in the Student Code of Conduct regarding class l, class ll, and class lll offenses. The student dress code is also written in the code of conduct. Parents sign a form saying that they have received the code of conduct and acknowledge that they are aware of the consequences regarding violations to the code. Teachers also go over the handbook in their class with students. Each year, student grade level meetings are held and the administration goes over the Student Code of Conduct. In my podcast presentation, you will be reminded of rights and responibilites of parents and students in regard to the student code of conduct.
